Introduction

This course suitably trains Appointed Persons to be able to respond to and manage incidents involving illness or accident. It is ideally suited to smaller companies or organisations in which there are few health and safety risks.
Where there is no requirement for a business or organisation to have a First Aid at Work trained first aider, or in addition to that person(s), the Health and Safety Executive strongly recommends that an appointed person(s) receives emergency aid / appointed persons training.
This course meets the guidelines issued by the HSE for Appointed Person training.

Course

The Course is delivered over either a full day or two half days or equivalent. We have no problems fitting in with existing work shift patterns and are happy to teach the course early morning, late evening or overnight if required!
As with all of our first aid courses, delivery is through the use of an instructor-led training programme with video segments and hands-on practice in groups of three.
The way in which the Course is delivered is varied dependant on the nature of the group and their existing knowledge of first aid. All participants receive a visual workbook.
Assessment

Assessment is carried out by the trainer at the end of the course. This takes the form of a 10 question multiple choice test and practical performance evaluation.
Successful candidates are awarded a ’successful completion card’ and certificate recognising their participation and achievement on the course by Medic First Aid. The award is valid for three years.
