Level 3 Award in Food Safety

Level 3 Award in Food Safety

Introduction

Food Hygiene regulations require that all staff working with food receive training and that the "training is commensurate with their work activity".

The Level 3 Award in Food Safety provides those working in a supervisory capacity with training in food safety which is appropriate to their role. The course increases participants awareness of legislation applicable to food safety and how to best communicate the required standards to employees. The course teaches how to motivate, train and supervise staff to ensure they are competent food handlers.

It ensures that supervisors have the confidence to lead by example, encourage good hygiene practices and take appropriate corrective action to make sure that all food activities are safe.

Alternatively the course can be delivered as a closed course where those participating are all from one company or organisation. In this case the way in which the course is delivered and the materials used varies dependant on the nature of the group and their existing knowledge of food safety. The course can be tailored to suit your own company or organisation.

In either case there are a number of delivery options available, the most popular of which are as follows ...

(1) as an 18 hour course, over a period of days or weeks, which includes all tuition and the examination.

(2) as a shorter 12 or 6 hour course, which includes some tuition and the examination, and follows a period of self-study using course materials we supply.

(3) as a self study course, using course materials we supply, which is followed by a 2 to 4 hour revision session and the examination.

The course, in which ever form, can be delivered during the day, in the evening or at the weekend. We have no problems fitting in with existing work shift patterns and are happy to teach the course early morning, late evening or overnight if required!
